Book 1394
I think Leia is a highly underrated card, esp. at elite. 3 damage sides, a relevant action ability, and slightly above average HP. Like with many characters, the trick is in pairing her with a complimentary partner--preferably also elite.
Kanan, in my humble opinion, feels like a blue Leia in many ways. He provides some slight speed with his ability, he has solid non-modifier non cost results on his dice--albeit only two damage sides. Further, blue helps shore up one of the deficits of red: die mitigation.
The deck is very straightforward: upgrade your characters, deal damage, and mitigate incoming onslaughts.
The deck has 8 upgrades, all ranged damage, many of which are blue modifier result-heavy. With half of Leia's dice doling out ranged, and the single ranged side on Kanan, the odds are in your favor. We have focus results on both characters, which is especially helpful on Kanan. Further, we have It's a Trap! as a blowout against rival ranged decks.
There's no real deep logic in the upgrades. A280 Blaster Rifle can help us get shields to prolong our characters' lives--another sub-strategy in the deck. DH-17 Blaster Pistol is cheap and efficient. Holdout Blaster offers speed, and is our second redeploy weapon. Overkill functions as pervasive threat in modifier form--I am still slightly on the fence with this one, if I am being honest.
Next we have our mitigation and removal suite: Confidence, Deflect, High Ground, and Overconfidence. Defensive Position works great when you quick-claim the battlefield! Pretty straightforward stuff, with two of these cards sending back some pain to their face in the process.
Dug in is an auto include in a deck that is hoping to get ranged sides and claim. Willpower and Field Medic also helps us extend our life, the former capable of dealing that killshot even through pesky shields.
Our utility cards are obvious. Hit and Run and It's a Trap! give us speed and some consistency--the latter being somewhat useless in melee matches, obviously. The faster we roll out, the quicker we can claim our battlefield and stay on the front end of the tempo.
Rearm allows us to chuck upgrades to roll again and/or get deeper into our deck.
I'm a dozen games deep with this with a single loss and really loving just how simple and effective it is. Definitely some flex cards in Overkill, so feel free to offer feedback below.

Man I miss Leia decks |
This deck is doing well on TTS. I've lost one game, and literally by one action cheat. So far so good. |
I love this! I've been playing eLeia/eMon Mothma with C-3P0, Launch Bays, Chance Cubes (for the money), and Planetary Uprising as a damage-and-claim deck. But that new Kylo just destroys mono colored decks. I think I might have to try this out. Thanks! |
Like to see Leia getting some love and play. However did you ever think of trying to test Leia Organa - Born Leader with an Elite Ezra Bridger - Force-sensitive Thief??? Seems like her at Elite along with Ezra would be a great paring. However you did give myself a great Idea to test Elite Kanan with Elite Rey - Finding The Ways and it has been testing very well. But none the less love this creative Idea for another deck that is not the same Thrawnkar, e-Mace\ Padawan & e-Sabine\ e-Ezra Deck. |

I am wondering about Force Illusion over Field Medic. I feel like they serve pretty similar functions with a higher upside potential. I also am considering playing Sound The Alarm over Confidence. Thoughts? |
I tried this today and they killed me sooo fast and hard. I want to believe this is viable but... not good against big agro. |

Some thoughts on revisions to the build: -2 Field Medic +2 Force Illusion -2 Confidence +2 Sound The Alarm If you want to lower the need to claim, here are some options: -2 Dug in +2 Caution -2 High Ground or Defensive Position +2 Distraction I by no means think this deck is tier 1, but I do think it's more than tier 2--if that makes sense. Needs a couple fixes. New Luke from Legacies will be an easy include with Leia Organa - Born Leader me thinks. |
Made these changes: -2 High Ground for 2 Distraction -2 Confidence for 2 Sound the Alarm -2 Field Medic for 2 Force Illusion |
Kannan multiple symbols seems good match for force misdirection. Defiance gets re-roll plus healing to test out in place of field medic. A little faster than medic |
|
Money is tight, and heal for 1 resource, which will usually be 1 based on stats, is not a good use of actions/money. |
Force Misdirection with Kanan seems pretty underwhelming to me. He usually is the first to die. You only have the two blue dice--none others. You are typically pushing out a free result, which you can't do in some instances with this card. It's high variance, if anything. Perhaps it has a place. I dropped High Ground due to the nature of having to always claim. I usually get to claim, but trying to make this more playable for others who may not get "roll, deal ranged, claim" strategy here. |
There´s an extra good point in Leia due to Fortuitous Strike imho (and will be even better with Luke Skywalker - Unlikely Hero instead of Kanan). With 3 -sides and adding all the cheap guns with 3 to 4 sides it becomes a real threat.
Do Or Do Not is nice with both her and Kanan too. E.g. hitting a means shifting 2 dice for free.
The one upgrade I´d add is Force Speed, so you can double-action into resolving rerolled or focused dice.
Cool concept.
