Hey guys, Nick from T3 with my first Regional report!

Big shout out to everyone at the tournament. This was my first major tournament and it was a ton of fun. Also, props to the entire T3 group (including the winner, Kuni!) who all showed up strong and took four spots in the Top 16. They helped a lot with practice and card discussion during the weeks leading up and they've been an amazing group to be a part of.

Onto the matches and list. This list was heavily inspired by the French regional winner by Strog, with some small adjustments based on their notes. So props to them for creating the base for this badass list; check out and like their list to see more details about the list. I wasn't feeling the Lando/Wedge list I was playing during the week so I went in search of other options to sort of wing it and this was one I thought would fit my style.

  • Game 1: Bye, thanks to a SC win back when Snoke/Thrawn was a list.
  • Game 2: Poe/Solo; I drew into my Planned Explosions early and Poe dropped in the second round. A second Planned Explosion saw Solo out in the third or fourth. Win 2-0.
  • Game 3: Vader/Greedo; the roughest and shortest match of the entire day, as far as I'm aware. Which was sad because I had a great opening round. I got an N1 on the board and landed a Planned Explosion right away and figured if I could make it to round two or three, I might have a shot at another Explosion for the win... It was not meant to be. The only removal I drew was Pickings and I never had a chance to remove a single die... from there? Friends in High Places into Vader's Fist. 10 damage total from 3 rolls. Vader rolled 5, Greedo's 2 ranged, then the big The Price of Failure into another 5. Game over. The only possible option to not lose that round was to Planned Explosion against Greedo instead, but without that perfect hand to OTKO me, I think hitting Vader was the right choice... Anyways, it was brutal but so quick that it didn't affect my morale. Loss 2-1. (This player went on to the Top 4)
  • Game 4: Yoda/Hondo/DD; I defeated Yoda early in round 2 and had very little damage on myself, so I was in the lead. Then... three Rounds in a row they resolved some dice and Hyperspace Jumped away. I could feel it slipping away but luckily I got away with a Yoda mill for the win. Super close and super stressful. Win 3-1.
  • Game 5: Beckett/Cienna/AR; A match where everything went my way. Round 1, they got their Firespray and 2 mods... and I got my N1 special to shut it all down. Round 2 I nuked Cienna with a Planned Explosion and from there I was in the driver's seat. Win 4-1.
  • Game 6: Han/Qi'ra/NA; They rolled decently hot with Drop Ins and Fast Hands to keep me from mitigating which was where the hurt happened. From just that little action cheating, I was an action behind all game, got Jumped on, and that's about all I can say about it. The player was obviously well practiced and their list was airtight. Loss 4-2. (This player went on to the Top 8)
  • Game 7: Dooku/Talzin; Matched against a player I've played before. As far as we could tell, this was a match potentially for a 5-2 spot in the Top 8. We played the longest match of the entire group and traded kills (Talzin for Yoda). I struggled to control the match since they were so consistent and I wasn't running a lot of mitigation. We talked after and late on I made an error chasing a Planned Explosion, which cost me the game. Is this where I use the excuse of "I was tired"? Loss 4-3.

It ended up not being a match for Top 8 and neither of us made the cut, but we both celebrated a Top 16 finish for that dope Talzin/Plo promo.

You'll notice a few popular match-ups missing from my report. Despite a solid showing for Yoda/Leia mill and Snoke/Tarkin, I very luckily avoided them. This definitely helped my results early because I had sort of struggled against both throughout the week of practice, so I'll chalk that up to some luck of the draw.

The list itself worked about as well as it could have I think. Dismantle didn't have a chance to shine against a Vader's Fist, but it did knock out a few supports like Improvised Defense and some others so it was still helpful. MVPs were the obvious: Falcon, Partnership, Planned Explosion, and Friends in Low.

Three Planned Explosions was probably overkill, if I'm honest. It was nice to see two early in one of the games, but the others I think maybe a little more removal might have helped. Possibly an Entangle or something like that.

Two of my losses were to Top 8 finishers so I'll take that. I finished 13th overall so I accomplished my goal of Top 16. Thanks for reading! I might give this one a spin in a T3 video later, since I wasn't on any of the recording tables, but I want to give a lot of the credit here to the original list.
