So the point of this deck is to abuse Luke Skywalker - Jedi Knight card draw ability to keep drawing Luke's Protection to get extra shields. Combined with Fearless you could feasibly get 5 shields a turn if you have both Luke's Protection at your disposal. Granted you'll never claim the battlefield doing this because it takes two actions per Luke's Protection.
I also built a mechanic into the deck that allows you to activate Luke Skywalker - Jedi Knight draw into supports and resources that you use to play and then roll in to help with your damage output.
Inner Strength and Lone Operative are in here to give some healing.

You're correct, I forego a lot of damage for survival in the deck. But that is the idea behind the deck. Training Remote T-47 Airspeeder Chopper R2-D2 all add a little extra damage capability. Using the card draw and resource ramping together allows you to get these into play faster than other decks. |
I'll have to see it in action--Luke is great, of course, but without significant damage dealing upgrades I don't think defense alone will win games. I could be wrong though, any deck deserves a trial run before passing judgment. It just feels like it's short on a win condition. More aggressive decks and mill decks might expose that weakness, or maybe I'm looking at a collection of cards and not seeing the larger dynamic that leads to a win state. |
I appreciate your insight, I haven't play tested this yet myself. I have a second Luke coming and found the prospect of recycling Luke's Protection worth exploring. I was also trying to find ways of getting more damage into my turn if I draw into that damage after activating Luke. That's why I was looking at cheap supports that offer damage. You're probably right, I may need to fit in some regular damage dealing upgrades. |
Shoto Lightsaber on Luke--some damage and shield ability that synergizes with your luke's protection and fearless. Toss in a couple Riposte too, for out of hand damage, and your way to kill combos. Luke is awesome which is why I looked at your deck--always like seeing ideas with Luke. Fearless/Luke's Protection/Luke's ability are excellent. Luke's Lightsaber is a natural fit, of course. Lightsaber Pull to get them fast. All Luke needs is a couple solid upgrades to dish out the pain and with the defense you're building in, he'll survive long enough to wreak havoc. If he goes down...poor Ezra. :) |
you need Partnership activate luke one support (who cares) and resolve. |
instead Stolen Cache Hunker Down and R2-D2 and add Ancient Lightsaber #Shoto Lightsaber. youll gain damage, healing and more shields |
Control Luke's two dice and there's no damage in this deck. Sure you have sustainability with all the shields/mitigation, but what's the win condition?
