This deck started out as me doing some last minute changes, switching out Luke Skywalker - Jedi Knight for Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jedi Master, in order to try to win a local tournament. While I did lose the tournament, I later made some changes that became this deck. This deck has served me incredibly well and so far, I have yet to lose a single match with it. While I wasn't able to participate in the recent San Diego Regional's, I have played against and won against one of the best players I know that had placed with in the top 64 and has won almost every local tournament he's been to. I should also mention that he helped me build it and still has trouble facing it.
Now onto the deck. Right of the bat, this deck has the advantage of confusing the other player. Both Rey - Finding The Ways and Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jedi Master are quite tanky having 11 and 12 health respectively, and with the nature of the deck, you will have shields on your characters almost all the time. Because of this, your opponent will have a hard time choosing their first target. Rey - Finding The Ways does damage over time with the shields from Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jedi Master and the deck, but Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jedi Master has good damage sides to leave him alone. Shoto Lightsaber is crucial in this deck as it provides more shields and makes it hard for the enemy to gain any. Rey's Lightsaber has good damage sides and gives shields, but is not needed at 2 because of it's uniqueness. Handcrafted Light Bow and Heirloom Lightsaber are too good to pass up and Lightsaber Pull helps close the gap between each of them, and Reaping The Crystal helps you play your weapons since blue has trouble with resources. The amount of amazing mitigation in the deck will keep you from harm and annoy the hell out of your opponent. Riposte is great tech card in this deck but should be used for rerolls if your opponent is being aggressive.
The deck was built using what I have in physical copies, so some weaknesses that could be addressed are that it could use another Handcrafted Light Bow and another Force Illusion. If you have the cards, I would recommend switching out one Riposte, Synchronicity, and Heightened Awareness, for Handcrafted Light Bow, Force Illusion, and Reaping The Crystal.
The deck is overall quite solid and should not disappoint any player, however it does have weaknesses. The deck is all blue so Kylo Ren - Tormented One decks present a huge problem, and melee damage can present a problem as it is easy to make unblockable. I have yet to see how well it does against a vehicle deck, especially the one playing Ezra/Aayla/Rose, which won the San Diego Regional's, but once I do, I will be sure to update.
Hey, I am new the game and was looking for an Obi-wan/Rey deck. I love how your deck is set up and will definitely play it! I wanted to ask a question about two cards though, and why they are not in your deck. That is Ancient Lightsaber, and Loth-Wolf Bond. I am not trying to say that you need to include these, because this deck is really good, I am just wondering why they aren't included and the thoughts behind that. Thank you!
