The goal of this deck is to outramp your opponent in the early rounds with Ezra Bridger - Force-sensitive Thief special and Yoda - Wizened Master. Rolling out Ezra first turn and hitting special or disrupt can really force an opponent into suboptimal plays. Yoda chaining through his own dice and an Ezra special will net you enough resources to send out a U-Wing first turn. The Rookie Pilot is there to give you consistency with free rerolls and a good target for Into The Garbage Chute.

This deck is not based off 'hero vehicles' and does not play the same. The deck does not attempt to spam small vehicles, but rather get out a few great vehicles early and smash them through consistently. A U-Wing or Y-Wing is always the goal first turn. U-Wing can be phenomenal against certain matchups with indirect damage such as Palpatine - Galactic Emperor or Hero Vehicles. T-47 Airspeeder works great with the modified sides on Ezra and Rookie. Millennium Falcon is a vehicle that I am not disappointed when I get it out, but also not worried if I don't. The ability can be great for the tempo of the deck in later rounds, and the die sides are also all pretty solid. C-3PO is of course included to provide consistency and to do C-3PO things. Usually it is to ensure Y-Wing and U-Wing specials, but also often used to change a die to shields/resources/focus or whatever the situation calls for.

The event suite is based around mitigating long enough to get your board state built up for a crushing round in the midgame. Easy Pickings, Caution and Garbage Chute are the opening hand mitigation you want, because Ezra is the early target and the Rookie's die usually has no use the first round. However, the first round you focus on resource ramping. You have enough health and shield generation to take a few hits if you are building your fleet. What you don't want to do is allow the opponent a first turn kill of Ezra. You also have to be aware vs yellow as you will need multiple mitigation due to Friends in Low Places.

Once you have a vehicle or two out you are looking for opportunities to use Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder or Maz's Goggles to remove their mitigation and pounce. Yoda's 2 and the potential +6 from Ezra and Rookie can be used to snipe down a character. Getting the opponent down to one character really makes the Y-Wing special a killer. In addition you can play a Strategic Planning or two to really finish them off. Partnership is another critical card that is huge in the mid/late game to get activations in before the opponent can kill.

While I won't go into a recap of each event, I will recap a few tough matches and what matchups the deck struggles with most.
Chicago was the first competitive event I was able to take this to, and my first regional ever. Most of the matches went pretty smoothly except for Sabine/Ezra and Obi/Maz, which was the eventual champion. Both of these matches I was just not able to deal with Hyperspace Jump. I would know they were coming, but just didn't have the tech to deal with them at the time. Never Tell Me The Odds and Confidence were both tough as well but only because of Running Interference. After the loss in the Top 8, I was able to talk to Nick from Artificery who I had played earlier. He clued me in on Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder, which is a card I had overlooked but it is critical to the deck now. I also added Maz's Goggles, which is great versus some matchups and works well with Yoda.

Overall this deck really dominates most matchups in the current meta. Boba 7th is a tough matchup, because they can FiLP you and get a first turn kill pretty easily. If you can disrupt their resources or Nerf-Herder their Maul Saber first turn you can usually turn it into your favor. Sabine is another tough matchup, as not being able to mitigate is a big problem while you try to ramp into vehicles. The deck is also primarily based on Indirect damage which is a problem when you want Sabine gone. Brotk is tough, due to the indirect damage and also just because it is a tough deck for anyone. The last deck that is tough for this matchup is Thrawn Talzin. All the best mitigation and events in this deck are 1s, and if they run Rocket Launcher it will straight murder you if they get it out. The deck only runs 7 vehicles total so losing even one can be pretty crippling.

Thanks for checking out my deck, feel free to ask any questions.
